Design Beyond Aesthetics
Typographic Book Design
About
A physical book pairing two texts on design philosophy — Bruno Munari’s Design as Art and Paul Rand’s Thoughts on Design — built entirely from typography rather than photography or illustration, to explore design as something beyond aesthetics: designers as problem-solvers, not just makers of “beautiful things.” The result is an 8×8-inch, 52+ page coffee-table object — bold, colorful typographic spreads that treat two design philosophies as one continuous, page-turning conversation.
